"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!"
We are so grateful to rest under the shadow of God's wings through this calamity and the initial pain of great loss. Although we still grieve and miss Joyce's presence among us, particularly today when we would be celebrating her "birthday," we also rejoice knowing she is at peace, free from this world's sorrows and is joyfully present with the Lord!
Therefore, we are thankful knowing of her "re-birth" through faith in Jesus Christ; which has given her victory over death and given us the greatest cause to "celebrate!" Because of her salvation, our merciful God Who rejoiced over Joyce in this life as indicated in Zephaniah 3:17, also rejoiced at her death, as He does with all who die in Christ. (Psalm 116:16)
Dear Joyce, we are consoled and also rejoice over the fact that your blessed assurance has come to full fruition; you are at home with the Lord where you will be "celebrating" throughout eternity!
Our precious memories of happy times together and family gatherings filled with great fun & good food must suffice until we join you for that great reunion, where the table is spread and the feast of the Lord is going on! Meanwhile, I am additionally comforted by the knowledge that you were not alone during your transition! Each time I recite or hear the 23rd Psalm, which we quoted together before we sang, held hands, prayed and parted company, I am reminded that the Lord was with you. Frankly, since we are one in Christ, His promise never to leave or forsake you, superseded my humanity and physical limitations.
I hope you felt my presence as well!
Thank you for your legacy of love, perseverance, strength and faith.
See you later!
Love, Your Sister Lucy (Written June 18 2020, revised July 11 2020)

Mom Williams,
God has you in his resting place now but you will always hold a special place in my heart. I will hold on to all the good memories and how much you were truly loved for my peace and comfort. John 14:3

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings and ye would not!” Luke 13:34
Hens don't get much credit. No one has ever written a song about hens. The modest hen, however, has the heart of a fabled lion. They will fight and kill a snake with no thought of their own safety. There are stories of hens, during attacks by hawks and foxes, running out from safety to sacrifice her body to cover chicks that couldn't escape in time.
Jesus, by likening himself to a mother hen, revealed his high regard for motherhood. My mother was special. She not only raised her own children to be thoughtful and industrious, she cared about all children and worked day and night to hone her skill in teaching. She wanted to improve the education of all children, not just her own. She dedicated her life to God through her calling. She was a loving and caring mother to all children.
She will be missed and never forgotten.
