Our Staff
Orlando G. Covington, Jr., CFSP, a native of the West Atco section of Winslow Township, New Jersey and a 1986 graduate of Edgewood Regional High School, decided to change his career from Architecture/Interior Design to Funeral Service, which was his childhood dream.
In 1999, Orlando graduated from Mercer County Community College, West Windsor, New Jersey, where he earned his Certificate of Proficiency of Funeral Service; Associates in Business and Associates in Applied Science.
Orlando received his New Jersey Funeral Director's License in March 2000 and his Pennsylvania Funeral Director's License in August 2007. Experienced in all facets of funeral service, he became the manager of Tunsil Funeral Home, Palmyra, New Jersey in February 2006 until April 2009. Prior to Tunsil Funeral Home, Orlando was employed as a director for 8 years with Greenidge Funeral Home, Inc. of Atlantic City, New Jersey where he served his apprenticeship. He is dedicated to his professional career; carrying on the traditions instilled by his many mentors over the years.
Orlando is a Past President (2015 - 2016) of the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association and Past New Jersey NFDA Policy Board Representative; Past President of West Jersey Funeral Directors Association (2009 - 2011); member of the National Funeral Directors Association; member of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, Inc.; member of Garden State Funeral Directors Association; Past President of Sigma Phi Sigma, NJ Chapter; lifetime member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and locally, a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, West Berlin, New Jersey and a member of Hiram Lodge #5, F & AM, Pha., Lawnside, New Jersey.
Orlando is a product of the Winslow Township community and surrounding areas. His goal and mission is to provide a high level of service and compassionate care to grieving families while easing the burden of bereaved families as well as providing an opportunity to say farewell in the most dignified manner is very important to him.
