Elgie Robinson was born on April 2, 1938 in Garysburg, North Carolina to Hack Robinson and Betty Robinson. He attended Cooley Springs Elementary School. He later moved to Philadelphia where he resided with his Aunt while working various jobs. In 1959, he met Daisy Bell Davis whom he fell in love with and in 1961, they got married.
His hobbies were watching TV shows like "Gunsmoke", "Sanford and Son", and "Wild Kingdom". From time to time, he enjoyed playing his harmonica, but his greatest joy was being with his wife and his four children.
Elgie is survived by his wife, Daisy Robinson and his four children, Elgin, Sherry, Linda and Michael; his mother, Betty Robison; his sisters, Nigoya, Gloria, Shirley, Barbara; his brother, Eddie; 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
