Obituary of Harry N. White

Harry N. White was born on October 25, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Charles and Henriette (Peyton) White. Mr. White departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2009 in Virtua Hospital, Berlin, New Jersey after a long illness with his wife and daughter-in-law by his side.

 

Harry met and later married Dinah Singletary on June 28, 1980.

 

Harry received his education in the Baltimore School System. He moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1953. He had worked at Klein Packing in the machinery department as a supervisor. From there, he went to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, where he worked in the maintenance department and retired in 1994. Harry received several recognition awards; perfect attendance; safety committee letter of commendation and also had dinner with Rosa parks. Harry was skillful in building, plumbing and electrical work.

 

Harry never was a stranger or said no to anyone. He was always helpful everywhere he went. He was a sweet heart, loving, devoted and caring person.

 

Harry was ready to relocate to South Carolina in September 2009 after is wife of 29 years retired.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Dianh White of Chesilhurst; three sons, Harry Cooper and Robert Cooper, both of Chesilhurst and Terrance Randall of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; two daughters, Carolyn Turner of Sicklerville and Marsha Bell of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his in-laws, Betty 1 Jones Harold, Eddie M. Cameron (hazard). Mary L. Graham, Eloise Singletary, Isabelle Maple (John), Sylvenia Mccutcheon (Bobby), Carolyn Singletary all of South Carolina, Willie Singletary of North Carolina, Elizabeth Graham, Jettie M. Davis and Marcel Williams (Alvin) all of Philadelphia, Norma White of Maryland and Lila M. (White) Robinson of Chesilhurst and a host of other relatives and friends.
