"Vena", as she was affectionately known by family and friends, came to the United Sates in 1971 and finished her final two years of high school before moving on to start her family of four children. Rowena was a dedicated worker of MacMilliams in Riverside, NJ and WaWa convenience store which was located in Palmyra, NJ. She services WaWa for eighteen years before leaving the company in 2006 due to health complications.
Rovena had a beautiful smile of sunshine and worked hard to take care of her family. She loved helping others and keeping their grandchildren in line. Rowena also loved to read passages from the bible, listen to music, dancing, watching the news and game shows, her favorite being Jeopardy. She also enjoyed her spicy Caribbean foods. Everyone who was close to Rovena knew her favorite saying, "You all Americans". Rowena leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Kayla Slater of Burlington, Twp., NJ, Katlyn Waugh of Camden, NJ, Rovena Rhoden of Camden, NJ and son, Thomas Rhoden of Delran, NJ: seven grandchildren, Dashaun Slater (deceased), Dumont Bailey (deceased), Anthony Waugh, Andrew Waugh, Terry Bailey (deceased), Sequoya Gibson, husband, Thomas Rhoden, as well as a host of loving relatives and special friends.
Rovena, we all miss you more than we can express, but we have consolation in knowing, you are resting in the arms of Jesus.
We love you,
Your Children
