Naomi Ruth Cannon, nee Still, passed away on June 28,2009. Born on July 27, 1923 to Alvin and Myrtle Still. She was raised in Masonville, NJ and was educated at Hattie Britt School in Morristown, NJ. She was the eldest of eight children and the mother of one son, who preceded her in death. Naomi and Oliver Cannon were married on February 19, 1951 in Elton, Maryland. They resided in Cinnaminson, NJ, Riverside, NJ where they lived for many years. Later, they relocated to Lumberton, NJ where they resided until her untimely death. Naomi was raised and served in her family church at Jacob's Chapel A.M.E. Church in Mt. Laurel, NJ. There she served as a Missionary and was very dedicated to this calling until she was stricken with her illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, reading and dancing. Naomi leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Oliver E. Cannon; a daughter-in-law, Alice Custis; six grandchildren, Hope, Tina, Annette, Faith, Irene and Byron; Fourteen great-grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, one God daughter Naomi Ruth Thomas; her sisters-in-law, Bessie Robinson, Della Woods (Bernard), Christine Christian and Esther Rivers (Roosevelt) and a host of other family members and many dedicated friends.
