Billy M.

of Williamstown, New Jersey, entered his eternal rest on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Cooper Medical Center, Camden, NJ, at the age of 82.

Billy was born on June 12, 1927 to the John R. Devine and Patsy Pitchford Devine in Littleton, North Carolina. He was the youngest of five children born to the couple. Billy accepted Jesus Christ as his persona; Savior at the age of twelve, at South Street Baptist Church, in Littleton, North Carolina, and was baptized at Wolletts Pond, also in Littleton.

On February 23, 1945, Billy was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army. On May 20, 1952, he married Rosetta Coles in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1963, Billy and Rosetta made Williamstown, New Jersey their permanent home. Their union lasted until Rosetta went home to be with the Lord in 1983.

Billy was a lifelong entrepreneur and successful businessman, as well as a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He graduated from the Eastern School of Christian ministry on May 20, 1989. His bright smile, commanding presence and words of wisdom will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death bh jis parents; his wife, Rosetta Coles Devine and three of his four siblings, John Devine, Frank Devine and Edward Devine.

Billy leaves to celebrate his life, his sister, Mary D. Williams of Philadelphia; his children, Yvette Jackson and her husband Brian, Patricia Quillen and her husband Raymond, William Devine, Edward Devine Sr. and his wife, Madeline, Kimberly Devine, John Devine and his wife Doreen, Susie Devine and an adopted son, Don Williams. He also leaves to cherish his memory, eighteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 10am Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Faith Temple Baptist Church, 367 Blue Bell Road, Williamstown, where friends may call from 9am. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pitman, NJ.
