Millicent J. Sykes was born in Philadelphia Pa on November 22, 1957 to the late Marjorie J. Grays. Millie attended Edgewood High School. She worked at White Horse Pharmacy until she finished high school. Millie then moved on to Wm. B. Kessler Manufactory. Over the years she worked at different nursing homes and was a devoted home health aide. Millie loved her patients and their families like they were her own. Then she moved on to Telepoint where she was an office manager. It didn’t matter what line of work Millie was in, she always gave 100% to her employers and co-workers. Millie was very compassionate and devoted when it came to reading her bible. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Millie was sassy and fiery. She loved getting dressed upo and putting on a great pair of heels. She loved church, family and friends. Millie loved her children and did whatever she could for them and all of their friends. She would do anything for anyone. Even when she didn’t have, she found a way to do for someone else. To know her was to love her. Millie was the older sissy and she has her own special relationship with each of her sisters, Jenny and Susie. She had a loving and caring relationship with her two cousins Marva Handy and Lorraine Johnson, two special and long time friends, Leslie Bradley and Jordan Poole. Millie was preceded in death by mother Marjorie J. Grays; two brothers, Ralph and Stephen Grays and one sister Mildred Grays. Left to remember two sisters Jennifer Russell of Sicklerville and Susan Smith (Danny) of Egg Harbor City. Her children Mastro Sykes (Erica) of Stratford, daughter Tashima Sykes (Warren) of Sicklerville and two nieces who she helped raise, Nicole’ Russell (Nina) of Galloway and Jessica Russell. Aunt Dorthea Cook. Her God- Daughter Quandajah (DaDa) Rivera and her two special guys grandchild George and Caden along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
