Daisy Ann Butler Obituary

Daisy Ann Butler was born December 5, 1924 to the late John Henry and Nannie Lizzie Butler in Boydton, Virginia.


Ann, as she was called by her family and close friends, spent her early years in Grandville, North Carolina, where she attended the local school systems. In 1943, the family moved to Cinnaminson, New Jersey. In 1946, she met and married Alexander Butler of Moorestown, New Jersey. There were four children born of this union, Daisy Jeanette (deceased), Alexander Melvin, Douglas (deceased) and Dianne. Alexander passed away in 1988.


Ann worked as a cook for the Green Leaf Extension Nursing Home and Sears and Roebuck for several years in Moorestown, New Jersey. She retired in 1987.


Ann was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin. She truly loved her family.


Ann departed this life on Friday, October 18, 2013.


She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Nannie Lizzie Butler; five brothers, David, Charlie, Benjamin, James and George; two sisters, Adele and Betty and two children, Daisy Jeanette and Douglas.


She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Alexander Melvin (Eunice) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Diannne Cross (Lewis) of Laurel, Maryland and step-daughter Karen Williams of Browns Mills, NJ; five grandchildren Dwayne, Erica, Angela, David and Jeremy; eight great grandchildren, Trinity, Daphne, Dominic, Darius, Calvin, Jayden, Jordan and Carson; one brother, Henry Butler (Sheila); two sisters, Nanie (Thomas) and Corene; one aunt Esther Winston; three sisters-in-law, Dora, Joanne and Shirley and a host of other relatives and friends.
