Paula Lynn Smith, beloved daughter of Elser Thomas & Mother Hilda Smith, was born on February 15, 1963 in Atlantic City, NJ. Paula was preceded in death by her father Elder Thomas Smith and brother Thomas Smith, Jr. Paila was educated in the Hammonton Public School Systems and was a graduate of Hammonton High School Class of 1982. Paula was a Certified Home Health Aide for most of her career and she loved caring for and helping anyone in need. She was an outgoing, happy, and cheerful person who always had a smile ready to brighten your day and a laugh that was so loud you could hear it from across the room. She was always available to lend a helping hand and be of service whenever she was needed, no matter whether it was a client she was caring for, a friend in need, or a family member. Pauls was a member of the Morning Star Holiness Church under the late Bishop Reuben Smith and then under Pastor Richard Smith, Sr. Paula loved the Lord and within the last few months we were blessed to witness her re-affirmation and commitment to her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Paula worked in the church as an usher and also worked in the kitchen or wherever she could lend a hand and do whatever was needed. Paula was known for many things, a few of them being her beautiful smile, her infectious laughter, her impeccable style and the way she wore her hats!... and boy could she wear a hat! When she walked into a room you knew she was there. Paula's ministry was that of sending cards to those who ere sick and shut in. She also brightened people's lives with text messages of inspiration and scriptures and encouraging words. She had her own special way of being able to put a smile on anyone's face. Paula Lynn Smith departed this world peacefully at home Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was preceded in death by Beatrice Basket, who was like a second mother. She leaves to mourn her beloved mother Hilda Smith;her sisters Ilees, Frannie and Carla; her brother in law Michael Mawuri; her brothers Victor, Carl and Larry; her Godmother Shirley Smith; her companion of over 26 years Clarence Boggs, Sr.; godsons Nathaniel Thomas Walker and Ronald Boskett, Jr.; nephews Stuart, Thomas, Darhyl, Jr., Andrew, Christopher, Joshua and Nathaniel; nieces Athena and Amanda; good friends Bernice Camper and Preston Basket; her entire church family; and her many aunts, uncles and friends.
