Obituary of Lucille E. Mitchener

Lucille E. Mitchener was born to Florence L. and Orlando S. Pretlow on May 10, 1938 in Newport News, Virginia. Mrs. Lucille departed this life on Friday, February 15, 2013. She was educated in the Newport News school system and later attended schools of higher education to pursue a nursing degree. Mrs. Lucille was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Mitchener. Mr. Bill and Mrs. Lucille entered in holy matrimony on December 8, 1998. Their family was enlarged by her love and devotion to her cats, Shane and Chase. Mrs. Lucille retired from Trump Castle Hotel/Casino as a supervisor of Environmental Services. She had been a member of Christ Care Unit Missionary Baptist Church, Sicklerville. Most recently, she enjoyed attending church at Morning Glory in West Atco. Mrs. Lucille was fond of arts and crafts. Her home was decorated for each holiday as she put her creative touch in welcoming the new seasons. She especially loved to decorate for Christmas and she had a love for her collection of elephants. Mrs. Lucille was an avid reader and was fond of sewing; she was known to share her talent with her friends. Mrs. Lucille loved to kid and tell jokes. She will be fondly missed by her friends and community. She leaves to cherish fond memories her caretaker and dear friend, Shermell Teacher and her other close friends, Sharon King and Deborah Johnson.
