Obituary of Charles M. Hicks
We, the Hicks family, sadly announce the passing of Charles Marcellous Hicks. He was born August the 26th, 1991 to Charles Louis Hicks, Jr. and Michelle Annie McNeil-Hicks.
Charles grew up in Glassboro, where he attended Glassboro Public School System. He graduated in 2009.
He was always active in sports and other activities. Charles participated in basketball, football and track and field from elementary school to high school. He played itty-bitty basketball and midget football of which was the start of him developing sport skills and establishing long-lasting friendships with teammates as well as coaches.
Charles attended St. Matthew's Baptist Church where he participated in boy scouts, men's mentoring ministry and played basketball.
After high school, Charles attended Camden County College to then change his sport-skills and health knowledge to personal training and meal prep. Charles worked at Landmark for approximately 10 years as a bouncer (Security worker).
Charles recently started a position at Seashore Leadership Academy in Galloway Township. Charles position as a Behavioral Specialist was very challenging, but yet rewarding.
Rewarding, because he and the love of his life, Binta Peterson (fiancé), were blessed with Azura (now 9 months old).
Binta and Azura brought Charles much joy and gave him a new outlook, even increased his spiritual perspective on life.
Charles was extremely outgoing and interacted with everyone. His sense of humor and capturing smile were definite attractions, especially to the ladies. Charles was kind-hearted to all, but yet very private and protective when it came to his family.
Charles leaves behind: Michelle Annie McNeil-Hicks (mother), Shelana Marie Brown (sister), Karl Brown (brother-in-law), Binta Peterson (fiancé), Azura Del`Mara Hicks (daughter), Linda and Michael McNeil (aunt/uncle-godparents), Francine and Ruben McIntyre 9aunt/uncle), Thomas and Gerald Reed (uncles), Brook-lynn Roberts (niece), Cheyenne Roberts (niece) and a host of dearly loved cousins and friends.
Predeceased: Charles Louis Hicks, Jr. (father) and Angel Jaden Roberts (niece).
