Cheryl Lynn Dewey righteously named Amatu’ Nur Ibriham was born October 25, 1958 in the Bronx, NY. She relocated to Atlantic County at age 11 with her father John Dewey until her untimely passing.

Surrounded by her kids, Cheryl passed away on June 3, 2023 at Virtua Marlton Hospital.

Cheryl was a graduate of Absegami/Oakcrest High School. She worked security, before working many years with Dunkin Donuts where she eventually retired as a general manager. Lover of all the kids, She was a second mom, aunt and doctor to many. She had her way with words but had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off her back.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father John Dewey, grandmother Ruth Beard and best friend Krista Scott.

Cheryl leaves to mourn her memory to her 5 children: Latisha Dewey-Simms (Omar), Jamyre Dewey, Hahneef Dewey, Tymayasia Dewey, and Kevin Robinson, Brother John Dewey, 18 grandchildren, 1 1/2 great grands, lifetime friend/brother Jeff Butler and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
