Obituary of Geraldine Loveland
Please share a memory of Geraldine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Geraldine Loveland, nee Miller, was born May 8, 1948 in Camden, New Jersey to Moses and Bobbie Lee Miller. She was educated in the public school system of Jersey City. The family relocated to Camden, New Jersey where she continued her education in the Camden City school system and also attended Camden County College where she majored in Liberal Arts.
Geraldine's greatest loves were her family, friends and her church. Geraldine wedded Michael Wayne Loveland and they were blessed with three children: Cherise, Michael and Barbara.
Geraldine was baptized by Reverend Richardson of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. There she served with the Sunshine Band. She was also a member of the Elk Lodge Marching Band.
After moving from Jersey City to Camden City, she became very active at the New Mickle Baptist Church at the age of 13. There she served in the kitchen, sang in the choir and served on the Missionary Board. Geraldine was a member there for over 50 years.
As her husband became more confined to the house, she joined St. James Church under the guidance of Pastor Linda Bizzelle King. There Geraldine belonged to the Mother Board and the noonday prayer warriors. Geraldine was also active on the Mother Board of Lighthouse of Deliverance Gospel Church.
Geraldine was a grass root member of Rubies and Pearls for 11 years. She worked diligently in setting the foundation for Rubies and Pearls. Before her illness, she was unshakable and always ready to take on any situation that came to the organization. When talking about Rubies and Pearls, she would always hold Rubies and Pearls close to her heart.
She was cherished by her husband and will be greatly missed by her children and family. Her friends will also be reminded of a good friend who gave love and help to many.
She leaves her husband, Michael Wayne Loveland; a brother who preceded her, Moses Miller; three children Cherise Loveland, Michael Loveland Jr., wife Danielle and Barbara Loveland Walker, husband Craig; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; special aunt Ruth Wilkerson, special cousin Layton Austin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins as well as friends.
