Please share a memory of Dwayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dwayne Allen Pridgen, Sr. was born November 24, 1960, to the late Melba Lennon and the late Albert L. Blake in Philadelphia, PA. Dwayne peacefully departed this life at 5:05 pm on December 19, 2021, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was educated in the Philadelphia School System and attended Cheyney University before joining the Army in 1980. He was also a licensed truck driver for over 35 years and worked up until 2020 when he became ill.
At a very young age, Dwayne accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Gospel Temple Baptist Church (Phila, PA). where he enjoyed worshipping on Sunday mornings with his mother Melba. In 2004, he met Lorri, the love of his life, and married on May 10, 2014, and they were inseparable. He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His children were the apple of his eye, and his lovable child-like manor came to life whenever he was around his grandchildren who affectionately called him “pop-pop”. He was a dapper man who loved dressing up in his sunglasses, hats, and suits. He also loved big trucks, classic cars and enjoyed driving, watching movies, cartoons, and sleeping. Dwayne was a kind, mild-mannered man who never had much to say but always watched and observed everything.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife: Lorri; Daughter: Sophia (Shawn); Son: Dwayne “D.J.”, Jr., Daughters From Love: Latisha, Felicia, and Alisha; Sons From Love: Terrance, Jr., Corey, Nicholas, and James who proceeded him in death; 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren; Brother: Keith Crews, Aunt: Annie Sumpter-Robinson; Best friend: Tony Nelson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
