Obituary of Anna Mae Brown

Anna Mae Brown entered this life on November 1, 1929, in Beverly, NJ to the late Thomas and Mamie Alexander. She was 3rd of 5 children. She completed her education in the Palmyra School system where she participated as a drummer in the Drum and Bugle Corps. Anna married Samuel Warren II and had two children, Samuel (Junie) and Yvonne (Vonnie) Warren. After 10 years this marriage was dissolved. Four years later the relationship with her high school sweetheart was rekindled and Anna and Albert Brown were married on June 2, 1962, until Deacon Brown’s death in 2019.Together they built their home in Cinnaminson and raised their two children. Anna Mae was the perfect homemaker. She worked part-time at John Wanamaker’s and continued in her education until her mother became ill and needed her constant care. After her children were grown, she became a member of The International Order of Eastern Stars, Electa Chapter #8, in Camden, NJ. During that time, she held the conductress, treasurer, and Associate Matron offices, becoming Worthy Matron of the chapter in 1983. She also served in the Grand Sheba Chapter as the Grand Recording Secretary and Grand Treasurer. Anna Mae loved the Lord. She has been a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church (SPBC) since January 1957. Ads a child, sang on the choir and ushered, but found her passion in the missionary ministry. She worked tirelessly as the missionary, serving as their president for over 20 years, where she brought her innovative skills for fundraising, her gift for creating souvenir books and many other attributes. Anna Mae took her seat next to her husband as Deaconess in 1993 and served until illness made it impossible for her. She regularly attended Adult Sunday School, Prayer meeting, and Bible Study under Rev. Dr. Alvin A. Jackson (late pastor of SPBC) and Rev. Dr, Victor M. Lee, Pastor of SPBC. Anna Mae was preceded into eternity by her husband, Deacon Albert Brown, her son Samuel Warren Jr., her siblings: Kizzy, Levi, and Louis Alexander. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her sister Marie Alexander, her daughter, Yvonne Ellis, her granddaughter Marina, her great-granddaughter Karina, and her special friend/ son Ronald Ellis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, as well as her Saint Paul Baptist Church family. She will also be remembered by Jeannie, Chelsea, Michael, Makaiya, Malikiai, Messiah, Brandon, and Branaiyah.
