Obituary of Laura A. Thornton

Laura Ann Thornton was born March 17th, 1955 in New York City, one of two children and raised by her aunt, Ida Mae Booker.
Laura departed this life on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 after a courageous battle with a long term illness.
Laura, although small in stature, was affectionately called "Big L" by her family. Laura had a quiet easy manner with a quick sense of humor and loved to laugh. However Laura was like E.F. Hutton; when she spoke, people listened.

She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at Rutgers University. Laura obtained her Masters Degree in Psychology at Capella University.
Laura worked for Eastern Services from 1992-1994 and The Arc of Atlantic County until her health would not permit her to continue.
Laura was an Elder of Victory First Presbyterian Deliverance Church, ordained October 15th, 2011 and was a part of the Mothers Board. Laura was one of the original members and first president of The Victory Specials, and a member of The New John Howard Gospel Caravan.
Laura was predeceased by her daughters, Ida Mae Graves and Shuneen Thornton.
Laura leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Christina Thornton Johnson (Kenneth); her brother, Peter Thornton; seven grandchildren, Nareisha, Clarence, Raymond, Peter, Donte', Aniyah and Jaiden; six great grandchildren; 2 Godchildren, Nantysha and Robert; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Laura was well Loved on earth, but God Loved her best.
