Obituary of Shawn D. Brown

Please share a memory of Shawn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On the night of September 14, 2021, God called our beloved Shawn D. Brown home. God looked around his garden and found an empty place, he then looked down upon earth and say Shawn's handsome face. God put his arms around him and lifted him to rest in his beautiful garden. Shawn Douglas Brown was born December 25, 1971 in Philadelphia, PA to Marcia Brown and the late Douglas Brown. Shawn was the eldest of four children, a role he took seriously and did not hesitate to remind you of his status in the family. Shawn was born in Philadelphia, but raised in East Berlin, NJ. In East Berlin, Shawn found a church home at Green Grove Baptist, where his grandmother would make sure he attended every Sunday. In this small community he was surrounded by family and found life long friends. Some would say, Shawn was educated in the Philadelphia & Pine Hill school systems, graduating from Overbrook Regional High School (Pine Hill) in 1992, but family would say he go a lot of his education working along side his grandfather, Fletcher A. Harris. Shawn was a hardworking man of many talents, ideas and interests. At a young age he could draw by sight and build playhouses from scrap wood. Shawn had inventive ideas for homes and cars, and he would create blueprints to bring it to life. Like many people that work hard, Shawn also took time for leisure. You could find him on a boat or dock fishing, in the kitchen whipping up a meal, or spending quality time with his family, never forgetting to include his mom on vacations to the shore. Let's not forget Shawn's love for sports, Go Eagles, and his love for NASCAR, this was one of many things he enjoyed sharing with his late father. Shawn was known by many names, Stinky, Shawn Lo, Brown, and held many titles, son, father, cousin, and friend. Shawn took time out to fulfill all of his roles and prided himself on being present. When you called, he would answer. If you needed help, he would give you a hand. His love for family and friends was outstanding and we all hope you continue to pass it on. Left to honor his memory are his beloved children Sharwnae' D. Brown, Shayla D. Brown, Anthony Mancini, Shawn D. Brown Jr., Sykia Brown, and Shakur Brown; his beautiful mother Marcia Brown; his amazing sisters Nyra Brown-Ransom (Antonio), Ta'Nia Brown-Gervasi (Frank), and Michelle Jones; his unborn granddaughter, that he was excited to meet; and an abundance of family and friends. Shawn was preceded in death by his daughter Shavae Dominique Brown and his father Douglas Brown.
