Robert Morris Sr. was born October 15, 1947 to the late Harley and Charlotte Morris in Lawnside, New Jersey. He went home to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, on Friday, December 4, 2020. He attended both Haddon Heights High School and Camden County Vocational and Technical High School. While attending Camden County Vocational and Technical High School, he developed an interest in welding. He became proficient in his welding shop, was part of the student council, and joined the hunting club. He was a counselor at the YMCA under the direction of the late Walter Gaines. While attending high school, he cleaned tables and washed dishes to earn money. He was a hard worker and determined to succeed at whatever he set out to do. After graduating high school, he began working at Cutler Metal as a Welder in 1966. Robert Morris Sr. met and married Joan Coleman in 1968. In their union, two children were born; Robert Morris Jr. and Robin Morris. Robert Morris Sr. was a strong, loving father, great provider, and fearless protector. He retired from Cutler Metal in 1987. After leaving Cutler Metal, he became a Foreman at Salem Nuclear Power Plant from 1988 until he retired in 2001. Robert Morris Sr. had a larger-than-life personality and was always available to those in need. He was gregarious and loved to spend his time with family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, swimming, and attending services at church. Cooking brought him immense pleasure. He received great joy from watching people eat his food; most wanted to know the "secret sauce" for his ribs. He was an active member in the Men's Department at the Cornerstone Community Church, and he admired Pastor Ralph Graves Jr. Robert Morris Sr. would use his own car to ensure people had a ride to worship the Lord. He also enjoyed watching baseball. He coached the "Dream Land Mets" Baseball Team from 1972 to 1986. He led the Cub Scouts, coached the Little League Baseball Team, and was a Lawnside School Board Member. Robert Morris Sr. was preceded in death by his Grandmother Ada Williams; parents Harley and Charlotte Morris; siblings James Morris, Harley Morris, Carolyn Murray, and Johnny Morris. Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memories are his family Joan Morris; his two loving children Robert Morris Jr. (Latisha) and Robin Morris; four grandchildren Simeon, Syrus, Solomon and Seth; his siblings Leon Moss, Jeanette Morris-Cooper, and Charlene Morris-Taylor; devoted companion Yvonne Savior, Keith Savior, Tara Savior and Maya Savior; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, friends, and loved ones.
