This beautiful woman was my Godmother. I found out about her passing earlier this month. Debbie was good friends with my Grandmother when they both lived in a brownstone on Bainbridge Street in Brooklyn many years ago. I always enjoyed listening to her stories, her historical accounts of black affairs, etc., and her love for jazz. Her faith was on point, not super religious but very wise. She loved her family dearly!! May she Rest In Peace!

I have cried looking at pictures and cards reminiscing about the times of life that we shared.... you were my favorite Aunt Deb... always seemed to just know what was needed..... encouraging a young mom to hold her head high regardless of circumstances or opinions...a reminder to love myself and do the best with what I had.....not to wait to live life to the fullest...I’ll miss your smile your full laugh and your raunchy jokes...I admired your ability to walk in faith, courage and strength never leaving poise behind.
Rest Up Queen ...until we meet again!!

“Auntie” I don’t know where to start. I can see you now, playing “F U Buddie” laughing with your too too. I’m going to miss you. Anyone who knows you, knows that your the sweetest.. but you spoke the truth. I can hear you laugh... And I can hear you praying. I know you are in good hands.
Thanks for being strong. Thanks for your love. Thanks for you gentle approach. Thanks for being Real. I will always miss you!

My Gee Gee was a phenomenal woman she was a great grandmother and a Awesome Great Grandmother and Super Duper Great Great Grandmother .You will me missed very much I'm glade god gave us so many years to have you in our life. You always told us that life is not our friend but you taught us how to live life not to let life live us and for that were grateful You always told us to keep our feet on the the ground so we can walk the path that we need to walk in a respectable way that can make us achieve the goals that's with in us I wish you was still here with us but I know you watching over us right now and that your our guardian angel so until I see you again I want you to know I love you missing you so very very much

my gee gee was a phenomenal woman a hell of a woman she was a awesome grandmother great grand mother and a super duper great great grandmother she will be miss and never ever will we forget her. She was our rock she kept us in place. she always kept it real .She always told us that to make it in life we have to understand life. I never understood what that meant until I started to really experience life. she was right life can make you or break you. I'm glade you taught us that we are better than that and because of you we were able to make life happen. We going to miss you very much but I know you are still here with us making sure we keep our feet grounded like you taught us
