Shirley entered into God's loving arms on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Genesis Nursing Home, Cinnaminson, NJ. She was the fifth child of the late Marrill and Leah Johns.

Born on February 19, 1929. Shirley was baptized July 22, 1979 in Vineland, New Jersey. She was educated in the Palmyra school districts where she later served as a crossing guard and a caregiver. She enjoyed cooking and sharing with family and friends. She also spent countless hours caring for many in the community.

Shirley entered into Holy matrimony July 1976, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Dewey Chappell.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory two sons; Charles Johns (Snover), Bernard Boggs (Hoggie), daughter Shirley Mae Boggs (deceased), five grandchildren Michele Patton, Tina Budd, Bernard Budd, Misty Rae Raynor and a granddaughter at heart, Yvonne Harris, Ten great grandchildren; Timothy, Marina and Madison Patton, Jose Rios, Damon & Serenity Greene, Jasmine & Elijah Budd, Daahir & Kyree Raynor, Three sisters; Julia Young, Delores Jones, Carol Johnson, four brothers; Donald Johns, Marvin Johns, Russell Johns and Tyrone Johns. Godson James Folks and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
