Obituary of Maggie Dawn Robinson

Please share a memory of Maggie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MAGGIE DAWN BEVERLY ROBINSON was born on June 29, 1924, to Evelyn Dawn (Beard) and Chalkley Hatten Beverly in King William County, Virginia. It was there that she met and married John Robinson in 1948, who preceded her in death in 2006. They were childhood sweethearts who enjoyed living life together. From this blessed union, three daughters were born: Constance Beverly Bull, who preceded Maggie in death in 1990, LaVerne Sharon Weldon, and Joan Olivia Hargett. Since her husband’s death, Maggie Robinson has lived with and was cared for in the loving home of Joan and Jesse Hargett. As a member of CCU Missionary Baptist Church in Sicklerville, NJ, Maggie Robinson served for many years as a faithful Deaconess. Among her many activities in church and out, she was also on the girls’ softball team growing up in King William……little known Black history fact. “Third Sunday in August” was an event that Maggie Robinson did not want to miss. She cherished the memories of her home church, Third Union Baptist Church in King William, spending time with family, and re-living happy times with old friends from her childhood. Maggie Robinson had a beautiful spirit, a contagious sense of humor, and a captivating smile which radiated from her sweetheart. She was creative and loved to organize things around the house to keep everything tidy and in order. Making clothes for her daughters, curtains, and slip covers for furniture gave Maggie Robinson so much joy. It was only after her youngest daughter entered junior high school did she work outside the home. Maggie Robinson loved children and they loved her. She went to work at an early childhood center in Philadelphia for many years. We know that God has called His child home to rest in peace with Him. In addition to her two daughters and “adopted” son, Jerry Smith (Brenda), Maggie Robinson is survived by sons-in-law: Franklin Weldon and Jesse Hargett; grandchildren: Andre Bull (Carman), Dawn Weldon Perry (Stephen), Robin Weldon Snipes (Davon), Jalim Robinson (Selena), Stephanee Hargett, and Shawn Only (Ron); great-grandchildren: Olivia Bull, Sophia Bull, Isaiah Bull, Arjon Snipes, Aaro Snipes, Jalynn Robinson, Journee Hargett, and Shamire Johnson; and her dear sister, Evelyn Kimble. Grandsons Braheim Bull (Koeberle), Jayson Hargett, and Franklin Kwame Weldon preceded her in death. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends will long remember and cherish the fond memories of glorious times spent with Mommy, Mom-Mom, Aunt Toots. Her joy of life and her love will live on and remain with us. We celebrate her life, and she relished the celebration of her own life at her recent 99th birthday party. May she rest in Perfect Peace. Thanking God for answering her fervent prayer for a smooth transition.
