Obituary of Deborah Elaine Adkins

Please share a memory of Deborah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
I remember Debbie. I remember when she snuck and opened her Christmas gifts when she was nine. I remember when she started sneaking cigarettes from our dad. She got caught in the shed. I remember when she was kind to me because our renters kid hit me in the head with a brick. She played dolls with me. She never liked dolls. I remember when she fell in love with the Beatles. She would sing their songs and do the twist. I remember when she got into a dispute with her classmate. She came home and changed her clothes and said that she was going to a fight. She came home an hour later-no fight. Debbie was always a tom-boy climbing trees. I remember when Debbie got her first job. She saved all of her money, bought a car which she sat in for months because she was not old enough for a license. She only wore a dress at her wedding and mine and she said that she would not ever wear dress again (she didn’t). I remember when my first child was born. Our mom went through OKC to let Debbie know. She handed out cigars to everyone at Taco Bell and yelled out that she was an aunt. Two more boys were to follow. She always took them to the store and let them pick out their own bag of candy. She would come home and load all three of them on her back and run around the room with them. She loved them so much and that continued as she was an aunt for three nieces and four nephews. I remember all the times she went to Beatle Fest and the casinos. I remember the trips we took with my mom -Route 66. I remember when Debbie gave up everything to take care of our mom and how I had to talk her into moving to New Jersey to live with us, after our mom passed. I remember how she loved to read books, dance, and have fun! I remember how much I liked to sit and talk with her when I got off work. I remember how much she loved us all and how much we love her still. I love my Debbie!
