Obituary of Roy Jerome Smith, Sr.

Roy Jerome Smith was born in Seaford, Delaware and was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lee Smith and William Monroe Smith, his wife, Carolyn (Boone), his siblings Boyd B. Smith, Phyllis K. Newton, Gale V. Winder, Donald N. Smith, Bruce A. Smith and Monroe M. Smith. He attended high school in Seaford. He held various management positions throughout Southern New Jersey, to include, but not limited to, Penn Fruit, Gaudio Brothers, G-Boys, and Shop Rite for approximately 50 years. Roy enjoyed gardening and his family – he was amazing at making both grow! Roy loved to garden and is very well known for delivering Christmas Trees and providing tips for exceptional lawn care. Roy was a loving brother, husband, father, uncle, nephew and friend to all who knew him. He never met a stranger and always expressed well wishes to all he encountered.

Roy is survived by his children, Roy Smith, Jr. of Camden, NJ, Brian Smith (Angela) of Fort Wayne, IN, Robert Smith (Edie), Camden, NJ, Richard Smith (Renee), of Chicago ILL, Selina (Smith) Cooper (Horace) of McKinney, TX, Crystal Smith of Turnersville, NJ, David Smith (Andrea) of Wilmington, DE, and Terrance Hill of Camden NJ and his siblings Rosemary Martin, William M. Smith, and Ricky H. Smith. He leaves to mourn his children, grandchildren Jonisha, Ayrlicea, Ricky, Saah, Amber, Brian, Jr., Taylor, Matthew, Julie, Zanovia, and Alison and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a special friend Emily Custis.

Roy will be Lovingly missed and forever in our hearts.
