My memories of Uncle Kenny are full of laughter. As a kid, I had a good time taking his seat on the couch at Grandma's house and stealing the remote to watch cartoons ; ) I can remember sneaking into his room, often, just to see what he was up. He would make a big deal of these small things just to make me laugh.
As we all grew older, unfortunately, we didn't spend much time together but when we did see each other, he made a point to ensure I knew how proud he was of the women I had become. His compliments and words of encouragement meant more than he'll ever know.
I regret not telling him how much I admired his love and dedication to his family. I can remember our last conversation where he described walking to work for years, regardless of the weather conditions, to have a steady income. Despite his misfortunes, he was committed to doing anything he could to provide for his family.
He was a fun loving, family man with a big heart! That's how I'll remember him.
I'm very sorry he has left us so early.
