She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord, gospel music, and attending Collingswood Church of Christ.

Cheryl passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the age of 56. She was born to the late Selma Marie Bynum, and Lawrence Earl Schaffer on February 1, 1970.

She was her mother’s look alike, and growing up she loved staying connected with her family - something she continued throughout her lifetime.

She attended Overbrook Senior High School, and in the 1990’s and she worked as a cocktail waitress at the casinos in Atlantic City before launching her own apparel store, Sunshine’s Urban Gear.

In 2018 she graduated from Camden County College in Blackwood, NJ, earning her degree in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling, and making the President’s List in the fall of 2017 due to her unwavering commitment and focus on achieving success.

Cheryl was a passionate sports fan who loved football most and never missed an opportunity to root for her favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles. She also enjoyed cooking and watching good stand-up comedy, with her favorite TV shows including Family Feud and Real Housewives.
