Ernesto Armando Benavides was born in Matanzas, Cuba on October 8, 1926.

He is the husband of the late Alba C Benavides, the proud father of two daughters, Maria Alexis Benavides (Stafford) and Alba B. Klisivitch (Michael) and proud grandfather of two grandchildren, Armando and Coco Klisivitch. He had a "fatherly" relationship with 2 adopted sons, Alfredo "Aldo" Pelaez and Nickie Robertson, and maintained life long friendships from the island of Cuba with beloved friends since childhood.

Ernesto graduated from Irene Tolson Methodist High School and then went on to College and continued his education by attending Havana University Law School, where he graduated with honors and for many years practiced "Labor and Contract" law in Cuba.

Ernesto came to the United States of America seeking a better life on March 27,1961 and established his household in North Bergen, New Jersey as he offered his skills in bookkeeping, tax preparation and accounting work.

Ernesto was also a "legal consultant" to many non-profit agencies in Passaic County such as CAMP Youth Development Program and St. Philip's Ministry of the United Methodist Church in the City of Paterson.

He had a passion for life and a general commitment to the residents of Atlantic City when he relocated and made it his "forever" home in 2019.

He deeply enjoyed participating in events with the Senior Services Dept. of Atlantic City, and frequently attended CARING MEMORY CENTER in May's Landing.

His faith fellowship was evidently shown as he attended Mt Zion/ Wesley in Wenonah, St John's in West Berlin, Asbury in Atlantic City and OASIS in Pleasantville NJ United Methodist Churches.

He loved the simple things of life. He enjoyed traveling and "day trips" as well as dining with family and friends and treasured a vast array of international and American cuisines.
