Obituary of Nakiyah L. Floyd-Roberts

Nakiyah Laray Roberts was called to be with the Lord suddenly at home on July 24, 2020. Nakiyah was born on June 2, 1993 to William A. Johnson and birth mother, Frances J. Floyd in Baltimore Maryland. Nakiyah was molded by Kim Johnson (Mother) upon her marriage to William (Billy). Their family resided in Chesilhurst, NJ during her adolescent years. She is predeceased by her grandfathers, William A. Johnson Sr., James H. Johnson, Elisha Herbert and John Blann Sr., uncle Craig Herbert, and aunt Crystal D. Norton.
Nakiyah attended Shirley B. Foster Elementary/Middle School. Nakiyah was a very bright, intelligent, and highly motivated person. At the age of 14, she became a published author of Poetry where she won an award. At age 16, she worked with an Event Planner, Miss Kim Davis. She worked at McDonalds, K-mart, and had a paper route, sometimes working them all at the same time. In June 2010 she graduated from Winslow High School in 3 years! At the age of22, Nakiyah and her husband obtained their first home. She obtained an Associates Degree from Camden County College and was taking classes at Rutgers University. Nakiyah was employed by R and M Group home and at the time of her death she was employed by Ancora Psychiatric Hospital.
August 5, 2017, she married the love of her life William Roberts and they resided in Sicklerville, NJ. Nakiyah had a flair for doing makeup, hair, and fashion. When she went out you would know she had it all together! Nakiyah had a beautiful soul. She made every effort to keep her family together. If anyone needed food, money, or a place to stay she was there for you! If anyone needed a job, she went out of her way to help you find one. She would always encourage people to do their best. She will be missed by all.
Nakiyah leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband William Roberts, of Sicklerville, NJ; father, William Johnson (Kim) Mother, of Chesilhurst, NJ; mother, Frances J. Floyd, of Newark, NJ; three brothers, Eric Johnson-Adams, of Syracuse, NY; Bryant Day and James Floyd of Bridgeton, NJ; two sisters, Erin Cook of Salem, NJ and Alissa Moser of Glassboro, NJ; grandmothers, Mary Blann of Baltimore, MD, Althea Patten Floyd of Bridgeton, NJ, and Jennie Herbert of Elizabeth, NJ, a special aunt Ramona White, of Chesilhurst, NJ, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
