Karl Wayne Robinson born 21 November 1958 in Camden, NJ to Willie Herbert Smith and the late Shirley Woods Robinson, Karl Wayne Robinson transitioned 9:05 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the age of 61. The youngest of eight siblings, Karl graduated form West Haven high school, West Haven, CT in 1976 He then completed studies in painting and carpentry with Job Corps in Albany, GA. Well-liked and popular with a passion for learning the horn, Karl first played with his brothers Rowland and Jerome at home in Connecticut and later joined a Job Corps band of talented musicians and vocalist. A professional painter, he also completed training to become a truck driver. Karl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of eight years, Robin and children LaDonya Harmon, Andre Fisher, and Tiffany Hopkins. He will also be fondly remembered by 14 grandchildren the youngest of whom affectionately call his pop-pop, a great-grandfather, by his father Willie Herbert Smith of 102 years, his maternal aunt Della Woods, his sisters Ayana R. Abdallah, Kahleelah Lowenthal (Khi Amma) and brothers Willie Toot Smith, Herbert Bernard Smith, Jerome (JT) Smith, and sister in-law Shirlette. Karl is predeceased by his brother Rowland Robinson. Karl will also be perpetually remembered by a host of his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be celebrated in memory of Karl on Saturday June 13, 10:30 a.m. at Covington Funeral Home, 755 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. The Reverend Doctor Edward J. Bryant Sr. presiding.
