On Saturday, February 22nd, 2020, the Lord decided to call home to glory his son, Albert J. Hickson, Sr. His time on this earth is over but only to begin a life with his Father in Heaven and to be surrounded by God's love and cared for by the Angels of the Lord. Albert J. Hickson, Sr. was born to Arbie J. Hickson, Sr. and Zetter Mary Ross Hickson, who both preceded him in death as well as stepfather Angelo M. Feliciano. He was the oldest of ten children , 5 boys and 5 girls who all grew up in Atco, New Jersey. As a child, Albert attended Tansboro Elementary School. He then attended and graduated in 1967 from Edgewood Regional High School, now known as Winslow High School, also in Tansboro, New Jersey. He later attended Drexel University for one year and served in the New Jersey Armed National Guards for 7 years. While at Edgewood he participated and was a star player on the football team as well as in track and field and the wrestling team. As a young child growing up, Albert and his brothers and his sisters had to help tend and work the family vegetable livestock farm which consisted of over 30 acres. As a teenage boy he also worked in the family business, the famous "Maple Lake Inn" bar, owned by his grandparents. Immediately after graduating from high school, Albert volunteered to go into the Army National Guards of New Jersey, however, Shortly thereafter he married his high school sweetheart Marcia Brown. Albert and Marcia were married for 51 years & lived in Atco, New Jersey. Into this union they welcome two beautiful children, Marcia welcomed two beautiful children, Michelle and Albert Jr. Albert loved his children dearly and was especially proud of every accomplishment that they made, showing pictures and bragging to his family and friends about his kids. He was especially proud of them both for going to and graduating from college. Albert served in the Army National Guard of New Jersey, where he received an Honorable discharge. His hobbies included CB Radios', fishing, Barbequing, watching MSNBC to keep up with current politics, and he kept watch over the neighborhood. He enjoyed his Facebook therapy by keeping up with his FB friends and commenting on current events. Albert was very concerned about safely and made sure the females of the family were safe. He made sure everyone had a tactical flashlight to find their way. As a young man Albert had a love for motorcycles and he competed in races at the Atco Raceway where he won many trophies. Albert was a proud faithful member of Green Grove Baptist Church until his health declined. Albert was an independent, strong willed and determined man who took pride in taking care of and providing for his family. Even through defeating prostate and pancreatic cancer he never complained. When his health declined after suffering a major stroke which left him unable to walk, he was still able to instruct his wife and kids on what needed to be done. Albert was preceded in death by three sisters, Lenora Feliciano, JoAnn Carroll (Forrest), Zetta Mae Hickson-Thomas, & one brother Arbie James Hickson, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Marcia Hickson, children Michelle Hickson and Albert James Hickson, Jr., 3 brothers Donald Hickson (Amelda), Andrew Feliciano (Leslie) and Michael Feliciano (Cynthia); 2 sisters Carolyn Reid (Mark) and Judy Waite. One aunt Zuleka Nelson, one Uncle Andrew Ross and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; including who would become the family pet "Dylan" his furry friend and companion whom he loved dearly.
