Obituary of Mable Louise Webster Davis
Mabel L. Webster Davis, a long-time resident of Voorhees New Jersey passed away peacefully September 10, 2019 at the Voorhees Center, Voorhees, NJ. Mabel was born May 22, 1924 in Kiblah, Arkansas.
Mabel married Harrison Nelson and they had one daughter, Mona Nelson Jordan.
Mabel received a Bachelor of Arts teaching degree from Prairieview A&M Graduate from University of Kansas. She was a Director of Social Services at Trenton State Psychiatric Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey and served as an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University. She was named one of the 100 influential Women in America by the National Associate of Social Workers in 1983. She retired in 1982.
Mabel is predeceased by her husband Harrison Nelson. She leaves behind one daughter, Mona Nelson Jordan, son-in-law Alfred Jordan; cousin, Mrs. Cecil Williams; one nephew, Lewis Crain Jr.; three nieces, Jacqueline Carey, Donna Simon, and Esther Beal. She also leaves behind a host of grandnephews and grandnieces.
