Obituary of Charles G Ellison

Charles Glenn Ellison was born on April 5, 1949 in Atco, New Jersey to Robert Eugene Ellison and Flora Owens Ellison.  He was the last of 8 children born to this union.  He made his heavenly transition on Friday, October 13, 2017 after a long illness.

Charlie, as he was affectionately called by friends, Stew, grew up and attended schools in the Winslow Township School District.  He had a dogged philosophy, consistent with a poem he followed on work ethics.  He believed that " Once a task had once begun, never leave until its done.  Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all."  Charlie followed this rule and was enthusiastic when it came to completing an assignment.  His hobbies included Landscaping and light construction work and he was employed by the Ancora Psychiatric Hospital in Ancora, New Jersey for several years, and also a number of local contractors.

He was preceded in death by both parents, as well as sister, Robbie Mae Ellison who died during infancy, brothers, Arthur Lee Ellison and Thomas Ellison, and sisters, Allean Johnson, and Annie Ruth Hart.

He leaves to cherish his memories: brothers, Eugene Ellison (Dorothy), Samuel Roy Ellison (Patricia); uncle, Ernest C. Ellison; nieces and nephews including, Diane Johnson, Anita Murray Jackson, Jeanette Johnson, Arlene Ahiarakwe (Uzo), Vanessa Worley, Carmella Johnson, Carrie Johnson, Pastor Tamika Johnson (Apostle John Wiggins), William H. Hart (Davida), Denise Freeman (the late Stanley Freeman), the late James Edward Clarkson, Simone R. W. Ellison, Samuel R. W. Ellison, Shawn McLeod (Sherman), Shelby Perry (Timothy); and a host of grand-nieces and nephews; great-grand nieces and nephews; and many devoted friends.
