Obituary of Evangelist Sarah Elizabeth Ingram

Evangelist Sarah Elizabeth Ingram, aka, Liz, by family and friends; was a resident of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed on to Glory, September 29, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ingram. Sarah was born on September 4, 1931, in Lilesville, NC to the late James and Addie Bennett. Sarah was educated at Horn Public School System in Lilesville. Later, she met and married Carl Ingram and of this union, eight children were born. In 1960, Sarah and Carl moved to New Jersey. She joined the Christian Temple Church of God in Camden, NJ and was filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost. Her Christian faith and work for the Lord, and his calling acknowledged her work as an Evangelist. Some years later, she joined New Light Church of God in Camden, NJ under the leadership of her daughter, Pastor Odessa Edmond. Evangelist Ingram enjoyed preaching the gospel while she was able. She also enjoyed gospel music; her favorite gospel singing group was the Dixie Hummingbirds. She was employed as a daycare worker and private health care worker for many years. Sarah leaves to cherish her memories eight children: Barbara Wanzer of Voorhees, NJ, Pastor Odessa Edmond (Titus) of Somerdale, NJ, Elder James Ingram of (Brenda) of Somerdale, NJ, Pastor Dr. Betty Sewell (Bruce) of Sicklerville, NJ, Clifton D. Ingram of Camden, NJ, Vivian Ingram of Lawnside, NJ, Ronald L. Ingram of Somerdale, NJ and Sandra Ingram of Wadesboro, NC. Sarah also leaves to mourn ten grandchildren, Shanan, Ronald, Syreeta, Eric, Najle, Charlie Bryant, Kai, Melissa, Kamesha and James; also eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and Godson, Minister Emanuel Hoggs of Atlanta, GA. She will also be dearly missed by her beloved sister, Della M. Waddell of Rockingham, NC and her three brothers, Edward Bennett and Robert Bennett of High Point, NC and James Smith of Hamlet, NC. Sisters preceded her in death Naomi Cole, Lillie B. Rorie, Clara M. Ingram and Hannah Hough.
