Theresa Purdie-Pinn, the daughter of the late Ada Walker and Julius Brewington was born on February 16, 1935 in Fayetteville North Carolina. Theresa was one of 15 children. At a young age Theresa relocated from Fayetteville, NC to Philadelphia, PA and then to South Jersey. In 1971 she moved to Lawnside, NJ where she resided for 30 years. Theresa raised six children and married her beloved husband the late Winslow Carroll Pinn. She learned early in life the importance truly believing in God, having faith in God, and allowing Him to guide her footsteps. This is what she taught her children and shared with everyone she encountered. Theresa had a smile that was inviting and a disposition that was loving, sweet, and filled with compassion. She also had a very unique and witty sense of humor, she brought unexpected laughter to each and every conversation. Theresa enjoyed spending time with the family, studying her bible, and had a love for nature and animals. She also enjoyed traveling the country and had the opportunity to visit various parts of Europe in her lifetime. For many years Theresa was a long-standing member of Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Philadelphia, PA. As time went on , she joined Bethany Baptist Church where she served on the usher board. In 2007 Theresa decided to make Grace Temple Baptist Church her home, where she served and worshipped with her family and friends. Very quietly and peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, mercy and grace, closed the eyes of our beloved Theresa Purdie-Pinn. She leaves to mourn Alphonso Purdie of Philadelphia PA, Sebreta Benson (Frank) of Gretna VA, James Purdie (Joyce) of Cherry Hill NJ, Carolyn Wilson of Blackwood NJ, Edith Carter (Wade) of Lindenwold NJ, and Darlene Wilson (Doug) of Lawnside NJ. Also survived by two brothers Thomas Brewington and Edward Brewington both of Philadelphia PA., and one sister Katherine Horsey of Fayetteville NC; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
