Please share a memory of Charlotte to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charlotte Agnes Judah (nee Roberts) was born July 4, 1925 in Albion, New Jersey to Emma Bush and Edgar Roberts. She graduated from Lower Camden County Regional High School in Lindenwold, New Jersey and went on to attend college. She met and married Carl Judah, Sr. and from this union four children were born. Carol Judah, Carl Judah, Jr.m Phyllis Fonville and Julia Judah. Charlotte was employed over the years at several sewing factories. When she finally retired, she began volunteering at West Jersey/Virtua Hospital in Berlin, New Jersey. Charlotte loved to travel and go to the casinos; some of her favorite places to go were Pennsylvania Dutch Country with Carol and on casino bus trips. "GMC", as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, short for Grandmom Charlotte; also enjoyed dancing, crocheting, knitting, playing the piano, watching the Phillies, reading books, doing cross word puzzles and most of all spending time with her family. Always eager to learn and share, she would watch nature shows, shows on how things were made and most recently her new favorite TV show, Diners, Dtive-Ins and Dives, and then she would share her new found knowledge with others. Charlotte loved music and learned how to play the violin and piano as a child in school; she taught herself how to play the organ and played in various churches across New Jersey. Charlotte liked to tell stories from the old days and told them so well it made you want to hear more! She leaves to cherish her memory, carry on her legacy and love her forever, one daughter, Julia Judah (Doran Shorter); one daughter-in-law, Pamela Judah; sister-in-law, Julia Hodnett (Walt); three granddaughters, Loressa Judah, Julita Judah-Shorter and Ashley Roberts-Judah; five grandsons, Edward Bryant, Jr., Carl Judah III (Angela), Quinn Bryant, D'amu Fonville (Tamale) and LaMarr Judah; nine great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; one special cousin, Bernice and a host of other family and friends who were like family. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma Bush and Edgar Roberts; ex-husband, Carl Judah, Sr.; daughters, Carol Judah and Phyllis Fonville; son, Carl Judah, Jr.; son-in-law, Antonio G. Fonville and granddaughter, Christal Judah. Through all her hardships, heartaches, pitfalls and pain, Charlotte kept her sense of humor and a positive attitude, always seeing the brighter side of things. What a life well lived!!! WE LOVE YOU GMC!
