Obituary of Sadie Mae James

Sadie Mae James was born to the late Rosa and Isaiah Hamilton of Hardisville, South Carolina. Sadie was raised and resided in Atco, NJ until her departure. She attended the Winslow Township schools. Sadie was an active member of Greater Calvary Baptist Church where she was on the usher board, kitchen committee, Silvertones and Combined Choir. Sadie was a sharing, caring person, giving of herself to her community, including involvement in the headstart program, the Lady's Auxillary, West Atco Youth in Action and the Eastern Star. She also worked on the election board. It's not surprising that she chose to work in health care services, from Lakeland of ten years to Ancora for over twenty years. Aside from regular duties, Sadie was involved in Special Olympics and committed to Black History Committee. Sadie was always a worker, yet stayed in the background, never looking for any acknowledgement. Sadie has always been gentle and subtle, yet achieved great tasks. Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Isaiah; sisters, Veronica and Joyce; and one brother Lucius. Sadie leaves to mourn, her husband, Richard "Rick" James; two children, Isaiah Hamilton (Jackie) and Coti Hamilton; grandchildren, Kisha (Chris) Hollaway, Jasmine, Taisha (James) Harris, Derrel, Deaira, Taevon and Ahshaqua; seven great grands, Christopher, Katiyana, Kayla, Kiara, Khia, Kimora and Jaelyn; one sister, Diane Dickerson; one brother, John Hamilton (Linda) and one brother-in-law, Willie Smith; four sisters-in-law, Elowise, Barbra, Carol and Rose. Sadie will truly be missed by her best friends, Anna Mae Kemp and Jennie Smith; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
