Julia Ellen Conway Garrison, third child of ten children born to James and Syrena Bennett Conway on August 30, 1920 in Seaford, Delaware. Julia was called by the Heavenly Father to rest, Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Marcella Genesis Center, Burlington, New Jersey. Julia accepted the Lord at a very early age as her personal savior at the John Wesley ME Church, Whitehaven, Maryland. Julia was united in marriage to Thomas S. Garrison, Sr. on April 25, 1940 in Whitehaven, Maryland. From this union they were blessed with 3 children, Thomas Jr., Annette and Clarence. Upon relocating to New Jersey, she became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she served for many years as a Sunday school teacher, Adult Choir President and the Founder and President of the Volunteer Gospel Chorus. In later years, she relocated to Virginia with her daughter and was the Intercessor under the leadership of Pastor John Peyton at the Reconcilation Community Church, Manassor, VA. In most recent years, she joined Alpha Baptist Church, Willingboro, New Jersey under the leadership of Pastor Danny E. Scotton Sr. and became one of the Mothers of the church. Julia affectionately called Mom, Aunt Julia, Aunt JuJu, Auntie, Mom Mom and Mama was a very humble little lady who loved her God and Family. Julia was employed by Keikefers in Delran, New Jersey and retired from for many years at Century Mills in Riverside, NJ. She was a very active member of Burlington County NAACP during the 1960’s and participated in the March on Washington, D.C. in 1963. God gave us a beautiful Angel to share in our lives for 95 years and from her wisdom and teaching she’s expecting us to come Home to join her and the Family in that Great getting up Morning and for that we are grateful… Julia was predeceased by her parents James and Syrena Conway; her husband Thomas Sr.; son Clarence, grandson Demone, 7 brothers, Granville, Leroy, Lawrence, Edward, Clinton, Fulton and Howard and 1 sister Laura Mae Armstrong. She leaves to continue this journey…1 son, Thomas Jr. (Sheila) of Burlington Twp., NJ; 1 daughter Annette G. Davis of Woodbridge, VA; 1 sister Priscilla (Aaron) of Willingboro, NJ; 3 sisters-in-law, Frances Conway of Beverly, Darlene Conway of Garfield, NJ and Juanita Garrison of Burlington Twp., NJ; 6 grandchildren, Dana Garrison, Danielle, Erika and Michelle Davis, Elaine Hawkins and Tony Garrison and a host of great grandchildren. A special caregiver for several years Selena Garrison; a Godson, Benjamin Bass and a host and more host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended church families and numerous friends. TO GOD BE THE GLORY…
