Obituary of Georgetta M. Bostic

Please share a memory of Georgetta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Georgetta M. Davis Williams Bostic, 98, of Galloway, New Jersey, and formerly of Atlantic City, New Jersey, was born May 6, 1917, in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late Florence Smiley Davis and St. Julian Davis. Mrs. Bostic lived most of her life in Atlantic City. She had been a member of the Baltic Plaza Tenants Association, and had served as the organization’s treasurer. She was an avid Pokeno and Bingo player. Her last employment was with Atlantic Human Resources, retiring after thirty years of service as a foster grandparent. Mom Bostic was a faithful and dedicated member of Second Baptist Church for many, many years. She had been a member of the Senior Choir, the Pastor’s Aid (Helping Hand) Ministry, and the Nurses Ministry, having served in various capacities in each of these ministries. It’s hard to hold an angel on earth when their wings are ready to spread. And so it was with Mom Bostic, as she completed her journey on Monday, November 2, 2015, exactly fifty-one years to the date and day of the passing of her late husband, Charles Bostic. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Sidney Davis and Bernard “Buddy” Bostic; three grandsons, three great grandsons, two great granddaughters, one stepson, one stepdaughter, and four sisters, Leona, Sadie, Mildred and Mary. She leaves to cherish loving memories: her daughters, Gloria Toulson (Thomas), Doris Williams Parks, Beverly Dockery (Nelson), and Georgetta Bostic-Roberts (Leroy); her sons, St. Julian Williams (Brenda), and Samuel Alston, and her adopted son, Clifford Alston (Barbara); two daughters-in-law, Nancy Lee Bostic and Brenda Davis; her stepchildren, Elizabeth Bostic Moss, Genell DaMore (Michael), Charles Bostic, William Bostic, Rosalie Burroughs, James Bostic (Shirell) and Lester Camper; Godson, Anthony Allen; 37 grandchildren, 92 great grandchildren, 115 great great grandchildren, 51 great great great grandchildren and 7 great great great great grandchildren; four special children, Joe and Betty Gaynor, Paula Scott and Labell Lee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
