Obituary of Lois Collier

Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lois Collier was born on March 14, 1959 in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Helen and Horace Collier. God called her home on July 2, 2015. “Lorsie”, as she was affectionately called joined St. James Bible Deliverance under the pastorate of Dr. Bishop Alberta Johnson at an early age and later became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Reverend Eugene Bryant, Sr., where she served as a member of the usher board. She was previously employed at Eric’s, Virtua Hospital, World Class Flowers and currently at SeaView Resorts until her death. To know her was to love her. She was a people person that dazzled everyone with her smile and personality. Lorsie, who loved life, got joy encouraging and seeing others happy. She loved her son Toby and was a mother figure and friend to many and would do anything for anyone she could. Her love for dogs, motorcycles, baking and the Giants football team made it all more special. Jackrabbit, Clettus, KeyLoLo and number seven, because she was born the seventh child; were nicknames she was also called. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Horace Collier; husband, Norman Smith and granddaughter, Allexa Collier. Lorsie leaves to cherish her fond memories, her son, CaTobey Collier, Sr.; six grandchildren, Kaylla Collier, Jailyn Collier, Tobi Collier, CaTobey Collier, Jr., Jordan Collier and Clarissa Cruz; one great grandson, Rashaud Cruz; four brothers, Horace Collier, Joseph Collier (Katja), Raymond Collier and John Collier; five sisters, Eleanor Betts, Yvonne Lemon, Doris Burrell, Linda Collier and Mary Burrell (Joseph); ninety two nieces and nephews (three generations); best friends, Virginia Rodriguez and Barbara Winters; kids she was a mother figure to, Arielle, Mark Jr., Nameica, Anthony and Richard as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
