Marilyn Denise Merriweather, nee Haslam, was born on February 6, 1961 in Perry, Georgia. She was the second oldest of four children. She passed away quickly and peacefully in God’s care on April 17, 2015. She was called to Heaven to join her mother Bernice D. Haslam, father Billy E. Haslam Sr. and brother Marcus Jerome Haslam. Marilyn was known as “Denise” to her family and close friends and later by the nickname, “Nese”. She came to Newtonville, NJ as a young child and received her education from the Atlantic County School System. During her high school years, she was All-State in field hockey at Buena Regional High School where she graduated in 1979. She furthered her education at Camden County Community College. On August 13, 1994, Denise was married to Archimedes Merriweather until his passing. Denise gave years of dedicated service to the Atlantic City Casino Industry in positions of accounting, scheduling, secretarial and payroll. Denise was a wonderful person; she had a good sense of humor. Denise was a member of Christ Care Unit Missionary Baptist Church for many years where she served as an usher.
