Ruby Bannerman daughter of the late Samuel and Celia Eley. Ruby was born on July 25, 1935. Originally from West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a young woman, Ruby was a sincere and loving person. In 1952, Ruby married Samuel Bannerman, a marriage of 60 years. Ruby worked as a Keypunch operator at First Pennsylvania Bank. Ruby later became the department manager at First Pennsylvania Bank. Ruby and her husband later moved from Osage Avenue, Philadelphia to Sicklerville, New Jersey in the early 70’s. There she and her husband built a beautiful home for their children, three sons, Derek, Tyrone Samuel and one daughter, Cheryl. Ruby was known in her community as a great businesswoman, who built an outstanding business with her husband called Merrett Hardware and Supplies. Ruby was a strong, proud and great woman in the community and in her family. She helped her family and friends in any way if she could. She was a flawless woman with great style in fashion. Ruby certainly left an expression on all young ladies and women she came in contact with. Everyone loved her grace, personality and humor, she put the S in sassy and the C in Classy. Ruby certainly had heart and was loved by many and will be missed. Ruby leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Samuel Jr.(wife Marquisa), one daughter, Cheryl, six grandchildren, grand sons, Justin, Josh and Jarrett, granddaughters, Samia, Tamyra and Jasmine, great great grandson, Jason Bannerman, one brother Johnny Eley, and a host of nephews, nieces and many cousins and friends. From her children and grandchildren: Mother and Grandmother we thank you for all that you have done for us and we are so in lighted to have been mothered by someone as smart and loving as you. You were the greatest teacher who left great examples of how to survive and do what needs to be done for our families. You showed us that its alright to be a trail blazer and that other peoples opinions about our decisions may not always be in our favor and that its okay. You showed us that being the best we can be was all that mattered. We all love you, you have been the best friend we have ever had you’ve always been there for us to count on, you’ve loved us no matter what. Your no longer with us but you left us with so many amazing times to say remember when. Our hearts are where your memory is stored in. We all feel blessed and grateful to have had contact with your spirit that is home in heaven. We Love You.
