Obituary of Elaine R Brooks

Please share a memory of Elaine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elaine departed this life on Monday, December 29, 2014 in Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ. Elaine Rosetta Ellington was born on June 7, 1943 to Dea and Rose Ellington of Chesilhurst. She was the second of five children. Elaine attended the Hammonton School District while living in Chesilhurst and when the family moved to West Atco she attended Lindenwold School District. After school she worked at a cookie factory in Hammonton, NJ. She met and married the love of her life, Tucker Brooks of West Atco, NJ. Shortly after, she began working as a health aide. They moved to Camden, NJ. After the passing of her husband, she continued to work and live on her own. Elaine's health started to fail and she moved in with her niece Zarina in Camden, NJ. Zarina became the caregiver of her aunt who meant the world to her. Elaine accepted Christ at a young age. She attended Greater Calvary Baptist Church in West Atco. Later, she joined World Harvest Christian Center where she grew closer to Christ under the leadership of Pastor Nancy Palmer and Rev. Ade Adebanjo. Elaine loved her church family, Pastor Palmer and Rev. Ade Adebanjo. She loved being with family and friends, but most of all she loved being around her mother and sisters. Her laughter and smile was like a ray of sunshine. We can remember her words of wisdom, "The devil is mighty and the Lord is Almighty"... Rest in peace. Elaine was preceded in death by her father Dea Ellington, her husband Tucker Brooks, brother-in-law Ernest and Rodney Ellington. She leaves to cherish and carry on her memories, her loving Mother Rose Ellington, two sisters Arnetta (Jim) Ferrell and Connie Carstarphen, Uncle Bernard (Bertha) Woods, Nieces and nephews: Alexander C. Murray, Roslyn (Howard) williams, Rosalie (David) Barak, Mary (Galen) Norwood, Annette (Bob) Black, Anthony (Michelle) Carstarphen, Kenneth (Sheri) Carstarphen, Zarina and a special cousin Darlene. Along with a host of great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.
