Annie Earl Culver, the oldest child of the late Robert Earl Culver and Nerra Lou Culver was born on December 11, 1949 in Abbeville, Alabama. Annie quietly slipped away to be with the Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Annie was a life-long member of St. John's United Methodist Church in West Berlin, NJ, where she was a member of the Hearts of Joy and Adult Choirs for many years and she also served on other ministries. Annie was educated in the West Berlin Public Schools and upon graduating from Edgewood Regional High School, Tansboro, NJ in the class of June 1968. She was employed by the New Jersey Water Company, Strawbridge & Clothier Department Store and retired from GMAC after 34 years. For the past 10 years she was a one-on-one aide for special needs students in the Gloucester Township Public Schools. Annie was loved by the children and staff and she always gave more than one hundred percent. Annie was a recipient of the Gloucester Township Mayor and Council Award in Celebration of Black History Month for her service and commitment to the children of the Charles W. Lewis Middle School on February 24, 2014. Annie never knew a stranger and throughout her lfe she made friends effortlessly. Annie loved spending time with her two grandsons, Jamen and Javon. She and her sister Cynthia would travel to Delaware just about every weekend when they were needed to care for them. Aunt Annie, as she was affectionately known, was a nurturer and mentor to many, she adored her nieces and nephews. If there was ever a need for an encouraging word or just someone to talk to, Aunt Annie was just a phone call away. Annie was preceded in death by her mother, Nerra Lou Culver, father, Robert Earl Culver and brother, James R. Culver, Sr. Annie leaves to celebrate her life: her son, James Henry Haliburton; daughter-in-law, Deidra; two grandsons, Jamen and Javon; two sisters, Ida Ruth Culver and Cynthia Culver; one brother, Johnny Culver; four nephews, Theodore (Lourdes) Culver, James (Tamika) Culver, Jr., Lance Culver, Clifton (Nichelle) Moragne; three great nieces, Siani Moragne, Reese Culver and Janiya Moragne; two great nephews, Jalen Mickles and Damien Moragne; one aunt, Annie M. Culver and a loving host of cousins and friends.
