Obituary of Scott Montomery Young

Scott Montgomery Young was born on April 5, 1962 to the late Otis Young and Bernice Young in The Bronx, NY. Scott was raised into a loving family of two brothers Michael and Jeffrey. However, he was blessed at a young age with a rich family legacy which included his grandparents, Howard Alphonso and Bernice Felicia DeSouza; aunt, (Sis) Arline Eleanor Monroe; and uncle, Richard Monroe. They were very instrumental in his life and help his mother raise him into a wonderful and extraordinary man. Scott was educated in the New York City School System and graduated from Evander High School in The Bronx NY. He attended Stony Brook University for 2 years, however his college education was interrupted when he enlisted in the Air Force and served in Italy as a Communications / Computer Systems Control Specialist in 1986. During his service he earned an Air Force Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Award, the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, the Overseas Short Tour Ribbon and the Air Force Training Ribbon. He was honorable discharged as a Sergeant in 1990. Upon his discharge, he worked for Worldcom, MCI, and Verizon as a Satellite Control Specialist. On September 3, 1993 Scott married his soul mate and the love of his life, Mame B. Young. With this union they were blessed with two beautiful children, Scott and Kayla, residing in Williamstown, NJ. Scott was such an amazing, kind, and wonderful devoted husband, father and son. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Scott was a calm man with a beaming and cheerful presence that made everyone smile. In 1995, he ventured into entrepreneurship and started an art gallery, SMY Trading Company, Inc. with his wife, Mame, which today is a very successful online business. Scott was also a supporter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. father for the South Jersey Chapter sine 2010. Over the past 4 years, Scott's Struggles with health issues took the family by storm; however, they became a building block for accomplishments. He never complained about his health but continues to smile brightly while talking about the love he had for his family. God and his infinite wisdom called Scott to rest on Saturday, November 15, 2014. He leaves behind his legacy of love and precious memories to his beloved wife Mame; cherished children Scott Montgomery III and Kayla Alexis; loving mother Bernice Young of Williamstown, NJ; brothers, Michael (Sharon) of Huntsville, AL and Jeffrey ( Donna) of Southern MD, and a loving mother-in-law Aissatou Camara of Dakar, Senegal; sisters-in-law Safie of Dakar, Senegal, Marie (Salif), Mery (Andy), and Sata all of Brooklyn, NY; nieces, Amber, Natasha, Jeanine, Fatima, and Jana; nephews, Kenneth, Nasir, Papy and Medoune; and a host of other loving relatives and devoted friends.
