Edith Mae Lawery was born September 2, 1934 in Long Branch, New Jersey to the late William Nelson and Thelma Price. Edith was a long time resident of Browns Mills, NJ. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday October 18, 2014 at Virtua Hospital, Marlton, NJ. Edith grew up i Long Branch, New Jersey with her grandparents, Joseph and Lila Nelson and her later with her mother, Thelma Andrews Price in Red Bank, NJ. At 33 years old, she had her first and only child, Gaylord Edward Duncan on November 20, 1967 in Long Branch, NJ. She later met and married, military man, Jessie Lawery. Along with her son, they traveled with Jessie to live in Germany for four years while has was stationed there. When they returned to the United States, the family settled in Browns Mills, NJ where Edith lived for over 25 years before moving to Atco, NJ to live with her loving son, Gaylord and his family for 12 years. During her time in Atco, Edith became a devoted member of St. John's United Methodist Church, W. Berlin, NJ. Edith was a devoted mother to her son Gaylord E. Duncan; daughter-in-law Julie Blount: a loving grandmother to Derek, Nicole, Jaylen Duncan and Camron Chea; grandchildren, Sancha and Shanon Drummand; great grandson Ashton Duncan; god mother to Joey Parrish and Author Taylor; step mother sister Carol Price Conley; her cousin whom she aaas raised with like a sister, Helene Zacharias (her late husband Fred) and their children, Fred, Gloria, Willie, Phillip, Lnda, Christopher and Holly and all of their grand and great grand children. Edith also had a host of other family from the Andrew's, Nelson's, Lawery's, Duncan's and friends from as far as Germany to North, Central and South Jersey, New York, Maine, Philadelphia, Sewickley, PA, Virginia, Alabama, North Carolina, Arizona and more. She was loved by all.
