Obituary of Royd Benjamin Adkins

Royd Benjamin Adkins, affectionately known as "RoRo", was born in Camden, New Jersey on June 19, 1963 to the late Rodney B. Adkins, Sr. and the late Adele L. Adkins. From this union, Royd was the third of five children. Royd attended Edgewood Regional High School and later went on to receive his General Education Diploma. After receiving his GED, Royd proudly served in the United States Army and in 1984 he met the love of his life, Cynthia Jean Love of Thorofare, NJ. Royd and Cindy married in 1994 and from this union came two beautiful daughters: Charne' Elyse Love and Danielle Nichole Love whom he cherished. Royd's career consisted of being a member of the Carpenters Local Union No. 2098. He was gifted with his hands and could build or fix anything. Royd was well liked and respected by all those that he supervised and with whom he worked. Royd's passions were fishing, bowling, bingo, listening to gospel and visiting the casinos; however his priority was his family.He enjoyed for his family and friends to gather and cook, eat, listen to music, dance and most importantly laugh. He will be missed, but never forgotten by all of those touched by his smile, strength and love. Royd received Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Florence Estates. He was preceded in death by his father Rodney B. Adkins, Sr.; his mother Adele L. Adkins and his brother Roderick B. Adkins, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Cynthia J. Adkins; two daughters Charne' E. Love and Danielle N. Love; four godsons Reo Adkins, Brian Hightower, Jamir Deyo and Jayden Garnett; one goddaughter Aniya Little; three siblings Rodney B. Adkins, Jr. (Candy), Reginald-Rydell B. Adkins, Sr. (Lisa) and Robin Alberta Laura Adkins; uncle and godfather Benjamin B. Wright, Jr. (Suzanne); grandmother Alberta Wright; godmother Delois Mickle; mother-in-law Elinore Love; two sisters-in-law Doreen Love and Heather Davis (Kahran) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, in addition to four men who made a great impact on his life: James L. Garnett, Sr., Roland Allen, Elton Jewell, Sr. and Jack Brown.
